AL-WEFAQ, TIME IS RUNNING OUT

The opposition's call to re-take the so called pearl roundabout –though it exists no more- has largely fallen on deaf ears. This resounding failure is the death certificate of the Feb. 14th movement which now awaits the final nail in its coffin. Their other calls to encircle the capital and so many named demonstrations have had the same fate, all failed. Al-Wefaq has proven that their bark is worse than their bite.

The Shia people of Bahrain, who were the fuel of this fiery movement, came to understand that this uprising will not serve their best interest, rather is only serves the interest of the few. They realized that they are being misled by self-centered, ego statistical leadership that was far removed from its roots. They, like their Sunni brethren are just fed up with an unrest that went 8 months too long.
The opposition, represented by Al Wefaq, has missed golden opportunities to bring about peace and tranquility back to the placid island. But that meant, giving up on their elusive dream of establishing an Islamic republic in Bahrain, and hence, the implementation of their version of Islam is now diminished.

Al-Wefaq's army of faceless fighters is putting up a fierce fight, but only in front of a computer screen and on top of keyboard keys. Demanding that people to take on to the streets and sacrifice their lives for a worthy cause, a cause that the leaders are not willing to die for. Actions speak louder than words, this is what the rank and file wanted to see, but NO, the leaders are just happy living their life in comfort guarding their millions which were given to them by the same regime they want to oust.

I personally have nothing against Al Wefaq, but they are out of touch with Bahrain – Sunni's and Shia's – and someone has to tell them. They need to be an active participant to resolve the mess we are in, adding fuel to the burning fire will not win them points. They need to listen to all the people who are telling them enough is enough.
